Unsure which course is right for you?
Then be sure to check out our Juniors Sailing Pathway, or contact the Sailing Office at 01 280 1811 or email sailing@rsgyc.ie and we’ll guide you through which course is best suited to your level.
Start Sailing through Improving Skills courses (Level 1 – 3) will feature greater variety of boats, with the opportunity to try 1720 Keelboat sailing as well as the possibility of sailing some even bigger boats.
The emphasis remains on improving the Sailors ability, people, and especially children, learn at different rates and should not be made feel inferior because of that. No one should “Fail” their holidays and that is the attitude we intend to run with for the summer.
During the period of all courses, we will run Kites and Wires, Go Racing and Adventure courses subject to demand, with the Advanced Boat Handling module included in all bar the Adventure course.
During the summer, we have decided to run with class specific coaching clinics to improve racing and sailing skills.
These clinics are open to all who have completed their Improving skills ISA qualification and will run throughout the summer in conjunction with their summer sailing courses.
The clinics will provide expert coaching staff to prepare junior sailors for Regional, National, and International events.
It is our intention to run Pre-Entry Training during August as part of preparing young adults for the pre-entry examination which we will run within the club and by other ISA trainers.
We will also be offering VHF, First Aid, and Powerboat Training so that future instructors can complete all of their pre-requisites over their summer holidays.
Our focus this summer is to improve junior’s skills and qualifications on the water but the most important part of the summer is to have fun.
Over the years, the Royal St. George Yacht Club has been delivering fun filled courses to thousands of children.
Team George Racing
The Team George Racing Program will continue and grow over the summer, allowing us to bring quality teams of sailors and coaches to Regional, National, and International events.
Nutrition
Again this year we would like to announce Lunch is included into the sailing course fees. We feel that doing this will allow us to provide our young sailors with the best quality food at an affordable
price. Menus will be published in advance of the courses. If anyone has any recipe suggestions we’d love to hear them!
Lockers 2016
Again this summer we will offer secure lockers in the Changing Rooms for the duration of each course. This will allow sailors to keep their gear and valuables locked securely as required for the duration of their sailing courses.
ear and valuables locked securely as required for the duration of their sailing courses.
